Beswitched by Kate Saunders

A great whirlpool of sounds were babbling in her head--voices and engines, explosions, crowds cheering. She was flying faster than the wind. It did not last long. Flora felt herself gasping as she was suddenly out of the dream and poured back to her sleeping body on the train.
Flora is a normal kid on a train going to a normal school until she suddenly goes through a mysterious trance and ends up back in time in 1935. She wakes up on a train traveling to the school St. Winifreds. Flora, at first, is confused and starts panicking and complaining about being in the wrong place and time. Then she meets her bunk mates who claim to have summoned her through a spell which they found in the attic.
One reason I like Beswitched is because of how interesting it was. I was always reading it, even though my dad would tell me to stop and go do math or something like that. The book had some funny moments like when a bully named Consuela Carver tries to tease Flora. Flora just says “Talk to the hend, the face jolly well doesn't care,” in her best granny voice.  That basically means that she doesn’t care what you say, except in a more sarcastic way.
The second reason I liked this book is how Kate Saunders gives Flora many different challenges, unlike a regular book which only has one conflict. Not only does Flora have to get back to her own time, but also she faces many disagreements with her bunkmates.
I would give this book a 9/10 because of how adventurous and how suspenseful it is. I think that girls and boys would both like this book. Even though the main character of the book is a girl and you might think that this book might be really girly, I’m a boy! I read it and I think it is fine. This book is not that famous (although you should read it). Although the book is not in a series, you could read other books by Kate Saunders like Magicalamity or The Whizz Pop Chocolate Shop. Interested already? Why not go check this book out?
